Creating a Parchment Account

1. Go to www.Parchment.com
2. Type in the appropriate information. Make sure you use an email address and password that you will remember. Counselors will not have access to this information and will be unable to look up forgotten emails and passwords.
3. “Want colleges to discover you?” This is completely your discretion if you want colleges to have access to your information.
4. Click on “I have my parents’ or legal guardians’ permission to create this Parchment account.”
5. “Pick colleges to find out your chances.” Skip this. You can add this information later if you choose. Click on see my results.
6. You should now be on the “Dashboard” website.
7. Click on the tab under “Institutions.”
8. You are now going to add Walled Lake Central High School to your profile. Search for Walled Lake Central High School. Once WLC comes up as a high school, click on “Add.”
9. Complete the enrollment information page. Make sure your information is correct, including your full legal name and birthdate, or we will be unable to match you as a student at WLC and will be unable to send your transcript.
10. Read the “FERPA Privacy Rights” section and make your selection. Click on “Consent and Request.”
11. Enter your address and click on “Save and Continue.” You do NOT have to enter your phone number.
12. Sign your legal guardians’ name, type your legal guardians’ name, click on both boxes, and click “Save and Continue.” In order for your transcripts to be sent, we must have your legal guardians’ permission. This step is not your legal guardians’ permission and you are required to have your legal guardians’ sign the Parchment form we are giving to you. If you do not return this form to the Counseling office, we are legally not allowed to send your transcripts. DO THIS ASAP!!!
13. Go to the upper right hand corner, click on Profile, and click on “Sign Out.”

Sending Transcript Through Parchment

1. Go to www.Parchment.com
2. Click on “Sign-In” in the upper right hand corner.
3. At the top, click on “Send A Transcript.”
4. Under “Available Actions” click on “Send Transcript.”
5. If you want to send your transcript to a college, click on “Academic Institution.”
6. Search for the college you want to send your transcript to.
7. After you have found the correct college, click on “Select.”
8. There should be NO FEE to send your transcript. If Parchment is charging a fee, log-out and see the Counseling office secretary. WLC will send an official paper copy of your transcript free of charge.
9. Click on “Continue.”
10. If you want to add another college, click on “Add Item.” Once you are done adding the last college, click on “Checkout.” If you are only sending your transcripts to one college, click on “Checkout.”
11. You will now be on the “Order History” page. You should see the schools that you have requested your transcripts to be sent to. WLC will approve your transcripts and your transcripts will be available for to colleges to access in 3-5 business days.
12. Click on “Profile” in the upper right hand corner and click on “Sign Out.”
