WLTV recognized with Excellence Award

Walled Lake Western’s Advanced and Media Production students were recognized by the Student Television Network with a Bronze Broadcast Excellence Award at the annual Broadcast Film Festival.

The Warriors received the honor for their weekly 5-minute morning newscast, which airs three days a week. WLTV’s morning newscasts are entirely student-created and highlight the happenings going on at Walled Lake Western. Students plan, produce and edit each broadcast, as well as have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in every aspect of putting on a live broadcast.

“Our students put in a lot of time creating newscasts that are engaging, informative and fun,” said media production teacher and WLTV manager, Stephanie Doppke. “It’s great to see their hard work recognized, and this award reflects both the students’ dedication and the growing strength of the media program.”
