Walled Lake Western senior named US Presidential Scholars Program candidate

Walled Lake Western’s Dylan Neacato Doolittle was named a candidate for the United States Presidential Scholar Program.
“I was kind of surprised,” said Doolittle. “It means a lot, and it’s just a validation of all the hard work that I have put in.”
Doolittle will attend Michigan Tech in the fall, where he plans to major in aerospace engineering. He currently serves as Walled Lake Western’s National Honor Society President. Doolittle is also the swim team captain, as well as a member of the Warriors’ soccer, cross country, track and field, and forensics teams. He loves music as well playing in the marching band, jazz band and was selected for the District Honors Band.
The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 and one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students. Each year, up to 161 students across the country are selected as scholars. The 2026 winners will be announced in June.
