Breiana Brooks named new assistant principal at Walled Lake Central

Breiana Brooks was appointed the new assistant principal at Walled Lake Central during the October 1, 2026 Board of Education meeting.
“I’m excited to begin this new chapter as an assistant principal at Walled Lake Central,” said Brooks. “I look forward to getting to know the Walled Lake Central community, working alongside a new group of incredible students and collaborating with the staff.”
Brooks comes to Walled Lake Central from Walled Lake Western, where she’s taught English since 2019 and served as the National Honor Society chair and Student Council sponsor. During the 2022-23 school year, Brooks also held an interim role as the Warriors’ assistant principal. In that role, she supported building operations, student discipline, IEP/504 meetings, restorative practices, staff leadership, SEL, disciplinary literacy and school improvement initiatives.
Brooks has her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership, as well as has demonstrated leadership through Walled Lake Consolidated Schools' Aspiring Administrative Academy, Oakland County Aspiring Principals Leadership Academy, MICIP, MTSS, attendance reform, District AI policy and SIOP committees.
“Breiana has already proven herself to be a thoughtful and capable leader within Walled Lake Consolidated Schools,” said Dr. Michael Lonze, Superintendent of Schools. “We are excited for her to bring that experience, strong relationships and commitment to students to her new role at Walled Lake Central.”
“Ms. Brooks’ commitment to whole-child development, inclusive practices, MTSS and collaborative school culture, combined with her knowledge of the district, makes her a strong addition to our administrative team,” added Ali Hamka, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
